National Unicorn Day
April 9th is National Unicorn Day!
To me, it's about celebrating individuality. Whether it's neurodivergence, or queerness, or gender expression, or whatever makes you feel like an isolated "other" at times. "You're not just a defective horse. You're a motherfucking unicorn." That which makes you different, is what makes you unique!
Or, it's about unicorns being cool.
On National Unicorn Day, I like to have a low-key party, and watch a unicorn movie. But if you want to celebrate the holiday, all you really have to do is make a friend feel comfortable to be their own self around you. It's nice to have a day to be yourself. It's a bummer that can't be everyday, for everyone...but, hey, we'll get there eventually.
